It is found by a local man named Ho Khanh in 1991 and explored by the British Cave Research Association. The entire cave is approximately 9 kilometers long with the largest chamber of 200 meters wide and 150 meters high. Son Doong has its own river, jungle and climate. Jungles emerge from inside the cave itself, a scene so surreal that you have to see it and believe it. Son Doong cave is not only exceptional in size, but also ranked  as the most beautiful cave all over the globe by BBC News. +It is really a masterpiece that nature offers for this region.
The best time of the year to visit Son Doong is from February to August. From February to April, the weather is cool and mild, suitable for trekking in the cave. However, remember to bring along some trekking jackets because it can be quite cold at night. From May to August, the weather is often hot and humid so the expedition is more arduous and challenging. From September to January, the cave is closed as the flood making it impossible to access to the caves.
This will be an interesting destination for those who want to discover the biggest cave in the world.
