Welcome you to the ancient capital of Myanmar. Reaching the airport and then getting into the city, you could immediately feel a very different space which you can find nowhere else in the world. At present, Yangon is truly an attractive tourist destination that no one will ignore when exploring Southeast Asia. Upon your arrival, our guide and driver will meet and transfer you to the hotel for check in. Spend time to relax at your leisure before setting off your stunning journey in the next day.

Today you have plenty of time to explore the former capital city of Myanmar. You will be amazed by unusual blend between colonial and modern architecture with spectacular colonial-area buildings, tree-lined streets. Take your time to explore the Sule Pagoda. The pagoda is an excellent landmark of the country. Unlike other religious works, this temple is located in the heart of the city among modern architectures. Stroll around small streets downtown and then make your way to “Golden Pagoda”-one of the most sacred temples in Bagan.

In the afternoon, continue your journey by taking a train from Yangon Circular Railway towards Bogyoke Aung San market. Located in the heart of Yangon, the market is the most popular market and also one of the precious colonial buildings you can find in Yangon. Take time to delve into a wide range of goods, handicrafts and foodstuffs before heading back your hotel.

Day 3: Yangon – Flight to Bagan (B)

This morning, after breakfast, take an early flight to Bagan- the ancient land of Myanmar which is famous for its numerous temples and stupas. The very first stop you will make is the bustling Nyaung Oo Market- a typical local market of Bagan. There, you can find nearly all Myanmar goods in its different sections, from the traditional longyi to other kinds of clothes and other specialties of the region.

Pay a visit to the revered Shwezigon Pagoda. Shwedagon Pagoda is considered to be the most sacred and important religious architecture. It is the first golden pagoda built in Myanmar and also a typical prototype of later temples.

Continue onto another renowned site of Bagan- the Ananda Temple. Built in 1090, the Ananda Temple features magnificent Buddhism artworks.

In the afternoon, it’s time to get a glimpse of life through a visit to a local lacquerware workshop. This is a great chance to get a closer look at traditional culture to see how this typical job is handed from generation to generation.

This morning, take a scenic drive to Mt Popa where you can find a monastery at the hill top which is famous for being home to 37 nats (spirits). Climb 777 steps to reach the peak of the monastery where you will be awarded with stunning views of the surroundings and the mountain itself. On your way up, you will be enchanted by an impressive array of flora and fauna with many different species of birds and butterflies.

Before heading back to Bagan, don’t miss out on the chance to explore Shwe Hlaing Village - a typical Burmese village famous for unique products from the toddy palm trees.

Upon turning back to Bagan, transfer to the Shwesandaw Pagoda to enjoy stunning sunset over the region as the day comes to a close.

In this early morning, take a short flight to Heho. Start your exploration with a visit to Pindaya Cave which looks like a temple from outside. What makes the caves special is its extensive collection of Buddha images with diverse styles and sizes.

Afterwards, make your way to the majestic Inle Lake- the jewel of the region. The lake attracts numerous tourists around the world to visit because of its attractive and rustic charm.

Today, spend full day to explore the hidden charm of one of the most enchanting landscapes in Myanmar. Take a boat cruise to immerse into the natural beauty of the lake. Along your way, you will pass several floating gardens and stilt villages of Intha people and observe interesting activities of fishermen rowing by one leg.

Pay a visit to Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda- an important religious site in the Shan State. The center shrine in the main hall of Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda houses five small golden Buddha images covered with many gold leaves. Continue on to Nga Hpe Chaung Monastery -the largest and the oldest monastery on Inle Lake. It houses a large collection of Buddha images with different styles, including Shan, Bagan, Inwa, and Tibetan.

Your day will come to an end with a visit to the typical Nam pan village to explore traditional work handed from generation to generation. You will be astounded by skillful hands of villagers from young people to old ones.

Visa:
You will require a visa to enter Vietnam. Your consultant will be happy to advise you on visa requirements.
 
Passport:
Please ensure that you have a valid passport with at least 6 months validity remaining after your return date. You will also need at least one blank page for each of the countries you are visiting.
 
Booking Procedure:
Only once you are completely happy with any holiday itinerary we create for you will we ask for a payment. In order that we can secure availability for your booking we would typically require a deposit of 30%.
 
Money Exchange:
The official currency of Thailand is the Baht (THB).
The official currency of Cambodia is the Riel (KHR). 
Unofficially however, US currency (US$) runs the country and is the currency you should bring, mostly in cash - notes should be 2006 series onwards. Clean bills in small denominations are most useful. Notes should be 2006 series onwards. Torn, dirty or old notes, as well as the $2US note will be refused in most businesses. ATMs are available in Phnom Penh, Sihanoukville and Siem Reap and also dispense in both KHR and US$. 
The official currency of Vietnam is Dong (VND).
Some establishments will accept US currency (USD), but usually only for large purchases and in some restaurants and hotels that cater to tourists. It's not possible to exchange Vietnamese Dong outside the country, so convert or spend all your Dong before leaving.
The most convenient and cheapest way to obtain local currency in is via an Automated Teller Machine (ATM). ATMs are now available in most towns and visa cash advances are available in major banks. The use of credit cards is restricted, mainly to major hotels. Foreign currency notes that are old, torn or faded can be very difficult to exchange; clean bills in small denominations are most useful. Traveller's cheques are unacceptable to change. 
 
Tipping:
If you're happy with the services provided a tip - though not compulsory - is appropriate. While it may not be customary to you, it's of great significance to the people who will take care of you during your travels, inspires excellent service, and is an entrenched feature of the tourism industry across many Asia destinations. Although can be difficult to source we advise you to carry small notes of local currency each day to make tipping easier. Please note we recommend that any tips are given directly to the intended recipient by a member of your group as our group leaders are prohibited from collecting cash for tips.
The following amounts are per person suggestions based on local considerations and feedback from our past travelers:
Restaurants: Local markets and basic restaurants - round your bill up to the nearest US$1. More up-market restaurants we suggest 10% to 15% of your bill.
Local guides: Throughout your trip you may at times have a local guide in addition to your tour leader. We suggest US$2-US$3 per day for local guides.
Drivers: You may have a range of drivers on your trip. Some may be with you for a short journey while others may be with you for several days. We would suggest a higher tip for those more involved with the group, however we suggest US$1-US$2 per day for drivers.
Please don't tip with coins, very small denomination notes, or dirty and ripped notes. This is regarded culturally as an insult.
