Dishes Made from Fish

In general, for those who travel on their own will be free to choose their favorite dishes. This is an advantage, but also a potential risk of food poisoning. In order not to get a stomachache, you should not call fish on Monday because a lot of restaurants, street vendors use leftover fish from the weekends instead of fresh fish.

Advice from Local People

Local people are those who understand most about dishes and restaurants in their country, their city. Do not hesitate to ask them with friendly and polite attitude, they will show you places selling delicious, nutritious and cheap specialties and it is for sure that you will not suffer from stomachache.

Eat Cooked Foods and Drink Boiled Drinks

You like to eat undercooked beef, or medium-grilled oysters to not be dry? Let save these dishes when you are in your country instead of trying in strange places. Cooked dishes, though not very delicious, are still "good friends" of travelers!

Drinking water is also not an exception. Although in some European countries, people can drink water directly from water fountains, the safest way is to buy a bottle of mineral water at shops and supermarkets.

Vegetables and Fruits

Vegetables and fruits supplement vitamins which keep the body healthy. This is absolutely true if the vegetables and fruits you eat are fresh and clean. When coming to the distant countries, do not throw away the rules on food safety. Do not eat peeled fruits which are available for sale in markets, nor should you try salad because it is highly possible that vegetables are not washed carefully.

Take Precaution

Always carry salt and some fresh lemons. As soon as the first symptoms of food poisoning appear such as a little sharp pain in abdomen, then turning into a small wave of pain, dizziness, nausea, mix a cup of water with 2 lemons and a little of salt to drink. Early detection and rapid treatment will help you avoid greater consequences later. If the pain does not decrease, you should immediately look for the nearest medical facility in that country. That’s why finding out and noting down some information about hospitals, clinics are never redundant.
