Situated in Hue, Tam Giang Lagoon makes high impression for visitors at the first visit because of its sublime beauty and local people’s hospitality. It seems that the lagoon reminds all of us about a peaceful village at which there’s no annoyance of bustling pace of life in big cities.

Tam Giang Lagoon is renowned as the largest brackish water lagoon in Southeast Asia. The lagoon stretches an area of 52km2 with 24km in length. Its average depth is from 2 meters to 4 meters and the deepest area is about 7 meters. The lagoon is the convergence of 3 rivers before they pour into the East Sea, including O Lau River, Perfume River, and Bo River.

 In the past time, Tam Giang Lagoon used to be a main waterway for accessing Hue Imperial – A famous ancient capital of Vietnam in the period of feudalism.

The lagoon is divided into many small areas that each family of local people will be responsible for one. Almost of local people earn for their life by raising underwater creatures. They built small houses on the lagoon for being more convenient for their work and their life of family. When the dark cover all corners of Tam Giang Lagoon, the native people throw their fishing net in the area of their lagoon. All trophies will be sold in local market in the following day.
