Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park – One of Seven World’s Wonders

Officially recognized as a Unesco World Heritage in 2003, Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park really attracts visitors by a majestic beauty of pristine forests and limestone mountains formed thousand years ago. With an area of 200,000 hectors, this destination is renowned as the kingdom of caves including 300 caves with distinct features. Every places of the national park always hides the mysterious things that encourage the curiosity for visitors’ mind.

1. Phong Nha Cave
 
Phong Nha Cave is one of the most impressive caves in Phong Nha National Park with 8km in length and a world’s longest underground river flowing internally. Boating along Son River into Phong Nha Cave, visitors experience an overwhelming taste when gazing out it magnificent beauty: colorful stalactites, the mysterious sound of wind and the cool atmosphere.

2. Tien Son Cave
 
After visiting Phong Nha Cave, tourists can discover Tien Son Cave. Despite of situating on the Phong Nha Cave’s ceiling, Tien Son Cave is a dry cave, which is absolutely a   separated cave system with Phong Nha Cave. On the trails to Tien Son Cave, tracing through mountain’s limestone cliffs, visitors can enjoy a beautiful panorama of a peacefully rural area with green paddy fields, gentle rivers, and smoggy mountains at dawn.

3. Thien Duong Cave
 
Thien Duong Cave is estimated as the longest dry cave in Asia with 34.1m in length. The cave makes a high impression by its extremely sublime beauty that everyone often links with the palatial symbol of ancient palaces. For millions of years, the erosion of limestone blocks created exotic statues of human, animals, and parties, which promote the imagination of visitors.

4. Chay River – Dark Cave
 
Hiring a boat for exploring the beauty of Chay River, visitors can find an absolute escape from a busy life and immerse into the peaceful landscape of Chay River: the jade color of water, majestic beauty of Karst mountain and flourish corn fields stretching out along Chay River.
Dark Cave is a branch of the system of Phong Nha Caves with 40m high and 20m wide. The most special feature in Dark Cave is a perfect combination between dark arrays and light arrays insides. Apart from other caves, stalactite blocks are covered with a thick layer of mosses because of its high humidity.

5. Sinh Ton Valley – Thuy Cung Cave
 
Sinh Ton Valley is a harmonious combination of different types of terrain such as limestone mountains, caves, underground river, pristine forests… In the past time, this place used to be planted with a large amount of bamboos. Especially, Sinh Ton is evaluated with high level of biodiversity with many rare plants and animals listed in Vietnam Red Book.
Thuy Cung Cave is famous for the excellently blue water. Until now, no one can explain the root of this magic water stream is and what factors creates the beautiful color of water in the cave.

6. Son Doong Cave
 
Located on the complex of Phong Nha Caves, Son Doong Caves is well-known as the biggest natural cave in the world. Found in 2009 by English scientists, this beautiful place is estimated as underground Everest Mountain of the world. The largest cave of system of Son Doong Cave is measured with 6km long, 150m high and 200m wide. The cave is considered as a perfect masterpiece of Mother Nature with overwhelming beauty. Besides the significant system of stalactites, there is a pristine forest in the centre of Son Doong Cave, which is home to more than 400 species of plants and the migratory birds from the North.
