Bac Son Valley and Halong Bay in 5 Days 4 Nights

In the morning, at 8.00 am, our guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel for an exploration to the Red River Delta. You will be taken to Bat Trang Ceramic Village to visit some workshops. Here you have a great chance to get a closer look at beautiful products made by skillful hands of artisans. Try your talent with by making some simple products with the help of the artisans at a firm. This will be an amazing experience.

After lunch at a local restaurant, continue your way to Ha Duong Province to visit Chi Lang Nam village where wonderful local experiences awaits. After check in a local house, take a leisurely bike ride around the villages with rustic sceneries.  As the sun starts to set, embark on a rowing boat on the lake of the village for a visit to Stork Island. At this time, you will have the chance to admire thousands of birds flying in for the night shelter on the islands. It is truly breathtaking.

Dinner and overnight at the homestay.

After breakfast at the homestay, make your way to Hai Phong port for 45-minute hydrofoil ride to Cat Ba Island. Upon arriving at the island, continue to a nearby boat dock and embark on a private wooden junk where you have an overnight on this amazing bay. Enjoy fabulous lunch with seafood on board as the ship cruises gently among hundreds of spectacular limestone formations. Depending on the weather, you have the opportunity to explore the bay by kayaking or swimming.

As the sun starts to go down, the ship will anchor for the night at a beautiful place in a charming setting. Dinner and overnight on boat.

This morning, try to get up early to enjoy fresh air on the top deck and watch the stunning scenery goes by. After breakfast, venture further into other parts of Halong Bay. Take your time to immerse into the stunning views of the bay as the boat is gently winding through the famous attractions on the bay to the pier in Halong city.

In the afternoon, get on the private vehicle for a scenic drive to Bac Son Valley. Upon arriving at Quynh Son village, you will check into a local house. Dinner and overnight at the homestay.

In the morning, enjoy a traditional breakfast at the house before transferring to the nearby tile factory. This is the most famous one in the region which provides tiles for most of the stilt houses here. Tiles in the factory are made by hand with traditional techniques unchanged for centuries.

After some time strolling around the factory, transfer to a small valley where you start your stunning trekking tour. You will begin with a small concrete path dotted with peaceful stilt houses and surrounded by green farms. After reaching the end of the valley, your adventure will be continued with a hiking into the forest. As you reach the top of the hill, take time to breathe fresh air and admire surroundings around you.

Continue onto the second valley which is bigger and then follow the buffalo to trek down the hill. Take a private vehicle back to the family to freshen up and enjoy lunch.

In the afternoon, continue your adventure with a short walk to the foot of the mountain where the cell phone tower is situated. Hike up to the top of the mountain to enjoy a breathtaking panorama of Bac Son Valley. Then, climb back to the family for a dinner. Overnight at the homestay.

After a delicious breakfast, it’s time to say goodbye to the host family. Drive to Thai Nguyen City for lunch followed by a visit to the Vietnam museum off Ethnology where you can get to know more about the various cultures of Vietnam and its different ethnic groups.

In the afternoon, transfer back to Hanoi where you will arrive at around 3 pm. End of service.
