Hanoi is one of the biggest tourism centers in Vietnam but different from other modern cities, Hanoians are not interested in large shopping centers and supermarkets, they love vendors instead.
Products sold by vendors are diverse and arranged in a bamboo basket. They are considered as portable stores which are searching for potential customers in all corners of Hanoi streets.
A woman with conical hat or a man wearing hard hat is the familiar images of Hanoi which attracts numerous international visitors. Visiting Hanoi, it’s impossible for you not to see them from streets to alleys.
2. Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum
Hanoi is the unique city in Southeast Asia which owns a scale monument to recall about the Great Vietnamese President of Ho Chi Minh. The Mausoleum is a not only significant but also cultural and historic monument.
3. Beer
Beer, cuisine in Hanoi, is loved by many foreign visitors. Many pavements are turned into beer restaurant of which customers are foreigners. The most attractive destination for international visitors is the junction of Ta Hien – Luong Ngoc Quyen streets.
4. Impressive Traffic
Crossing streets in the capital city of Hanoi is completely a brand-new experience for foreign visitors. Once stepping into streets, turning back is even more dangerous. The only way is to step straight ahead and hope that you can avoid all vehicles moving on streets.
5. Hanoi Old Quarter
Not visiting Old Quarter, Hanoi’s particularity, means you have not arrived in Hanoi yet. Specially, names of streets in the area of the Old Quarter is stand for a kind of good. However, the people here don’t sell the similar goods as before.
6. War Remnants
Hanoi is destination which still preserves many war remnants. Long Bien Bridge is one of typical “witness” for the Vietnamese historic war.
7. French Style
Many French-Style monuments have been preserved and used in Vietnam since last century. Additionally, French style can be seen in Hanoi Foods. French bread is now added with other ingredients and herb to create delicious bread with spices. Gradually, French style comes into Vietnamese culture.
In Hanoi, coffee and tea are at the same level of being enjoyed. For the young, coffee also inspired by the French, is a prior choice that make coffee habit. Hanoians love milk coffee.
With the patient people who are keen on waiting for coffee to be completed in the filter, they consider the hustle and bustle on the street is a drama and they themselves are audiences. Coffee on pavement is not only simply enjoyed but also observing rhythm of life.
