Paying a visit to the Cau Dat – a centennial tea village, visitors have chances to get unique and memorable experiences in the flower city - Dalat
After waking up in the early morning, and enjoy a cup of coffee, it is the best time for people love photography moving towards Trai Mat. Dalat is cold to each breath in the morning. When the motorbikes come uphill, downhill, the fog rushed is into the steering wheel. The dotted yellow wild sunflowers and the laden persimmon gardens make travelers feel less cold in the morning.
After about 30 km, Cau Dat (Cầu Đất) tea hill (Xuan Truong commune) gradually appears out with a green color on the hills is consecutive stretching. This region is at an altitude of over 1,600 meters above sea level, so it is cool and covered with fog all year.
It is associated with the traditional oldest tea plantations, made the famous Cau Dat tea brand. With a healthy natural environment, cool temperature, covered by fog all year, Cau Dat tea tree absorbs the good atmosphere, so their leaf has the qualities better to the teas grown in other areas… Cau Dat tea is also imported, processed and exported to some European countries by French almost 90 years ago.
When the sun has not yet arrived, thick fog gradually gives way to white clouds hovering over the hill. The group stops in a clear ground with their carried stuffs, find their own corner to hunt these clouds. In this corner, we still watch these beautiful cloud masses, but when running up higher scores to choose the cloud angle, they are draughty away, it is true that cloud hunting. When the sun rises, the green hills welcome to catch the early sunlights. The immense tea hills are gradually clearer in our sight. Somewhere few tea trees soars up between rows of tea. A vast green is stretching to the horizon. When farmers come into tea fields is the time when the life in the centenarian tea village comes back to its normal rhythm.
When the photographers say goodbye to the tea hills, the sunlights warm up their hands from the cold, their minds now fill with the endless green to the skyline.
Cau Dat is located from the center of Dalat city about 22 km towards the southeast. You can take the Tran Hung Dao - Hung Vuong streets, up to the Highway 20 and follow the signs along the route to Trai Mat, and then run straight to the village of Xuan Truong, and ask the way to the tea plantation of the JSC Cau Dat tea.
If you need to rent a motorbike to move from Dalat, you can ask some spots surrounding Da Lat Market in Bui Thi Xuan, Phan Boi Chau street ... with about 80,000 VND/ 1 motorbike/ 1 day or 100,000 VND/ 1 scooter/ 1 day.
In Cau Dat, the weather is quite cold in the morning, remember to bring the warm clothes, be careful with the electronic equipment from the dew water. After sightseeing, you come back the big way, you can enjoy the Quang noodles, the beef vermicelli ... in some Xuan Truong people’s restaurants for about 20,000 VND/1 bowl.
